The Mizuno JPX800 fairway wood replaces the very successful MX-700 version and thankfully it keeps the large oversized head that made the previous model so successful.
This not only gives you more confidence, but the larger head also makes it more forgiving. Compared to the old version the face has less offset and is a little more open which we think should appeal to more golfers and better players should certainly give this a try if they had previously been disappointed with the MX-700.
We found that the JPX800 fairway allowed us to easily shape our shots and the classy shaped head felt and sounded very good although amongst our testers the jury is still out on the dark blue colour scheme.
This is likely to be competitively priced and it is a serious challenger in the mid to low handicap market.
