The Cobra ZL Driver is the replacement for the L5V driver and continues the adjustability options available by having an extra third setting to open the club face.
The adjustment is very simple and easy to make but we found the results were quite subtle. One of the drawbacks of the L5V was the noise at impact and Cobra have improved this significantly with the ZL driver and it now gives a much better solid sound.
The feel was great and the forgiveness was very good, although we felt it was not quite as good as the L5V, which was exceptional.
The semi-triangular shape of the Cobra ZL driver head is meant to help the moment of inertia and it does a pretty good job although we found that the slightly longer 46 inch shaft resulted in a little more dispersion than usual.
However that is the trade off for the extra distance that comes with a longer shaft. The shaft is quite light and combines well with the composite head which sat nicely at address.
The draw bias weight in the head did not affect the flight too much so all you drawers out there will find this easy to play with, especially if you use the open shaft setting on the Cobra ZL driver.
