Scotland's ProQuip has been making innovative golf outerwear for 34 years and with the launch of their Tour-Lite rain jacket the company is breaking new boundaries.
The Tour-Lite is both the lightest rain jacket ProQuip has made and also the first they've developed using a knitted waterproof outer fabric.
Being the most played weather brand in Ryder Cup history, having supplied both European and American Teams, ProQuip has a keen sense of what it takes to remain at the cutting edge.
Russel Brooks, general manager of ProQuip Golf:
ProQuip has a history of ground-breaking innovation in golf weatherwear and Tour-Lite is our latest breakthrough. Golfers now demand thinner, softer and lighter clothing with great styling and complete protection against the elements.
We believe that Tour-Lite is the perfect all-year round outer layer for golf and will win over the many golfers who are still reluctant to pull on a waterproof jacket when it rains.
The Tour-Lite is constructed from a knitted ultra-lightweight outer fabric that makes it extremely soft and comfortable to wear as well as providing the four way stretch essential to total freedom of movement when swinging the club.
The fabric also means that the Tour-Lite weighs in at just 277 grams, 50% lighter than ProQuip's long running UltraLite rain jacket, and it can be packed down to a dimension of just 15cm by 12cm, smaller than the average winter golf mitt, meaning it's easy to carry even in your smallest golf bag.
Despite its weight and size the Tour-Lite is still packed with features that you'd expect to find on a high performance jacket. An elasticated waistband and grip strip gives the jacket an athletic fit, all the zips are waterproof, and the cuffs can be adjusted with Velcro. It also contains an innovative pocket on the rear of the jacket for easy storage of gloves, scorecards and accessories.
The Tour-Lite is available in sizes from S-XXL in either Black/True Blue or True Blue / Black and comes with a three year waterproof guarantee and an RRP of £129.
