When Scotty Cameron added the Fastback and Squareback models to the Select Range of putters in 2014 the criss cross alignment features immediately grabbed the attention.
The popularity of the putters, both on Tour and amongst amateur players, has led to Cameron introducing a new shape to complement the range, the Select Roundback.
A mid-mallet design, the Roundback features the same popular Newport shape as the Fastback and Squareback and like its predecessors varies in the shape found at the back of the putter.
In the case of the Roundback, Cameron has incorporated a fully rounded back end in contrast to the rounded corners of the Fastback and box like appearance of the Squareback.
Cameron explains the focus on alignment in these models:
When we introduced them a year ago, the Fastback and Squareback instantly resonated with golfers at every level of the game. Alignment is a huge trend on tour, and having multiple sight lines on a head works to benefit many golfers. If you have difficulty setting up to the ball and squaring the face at impact, this is a great option.
The criss cross alignment features are achieved with vertical and horizontal pop-through sight lines on the back flange of the putters that are positioned directly between a player's eyes to give them the key reference to aiding squaring the face at address.
The Select putters are precision milled to the most exacting standards to ensure the look, sound and feel that is unique to the Scotty Cameron range.
Weights in the heel and toe of the putters increase MOI and add to the stability of the putters whilst the striking look is completed by the Silver Mist finish and Scotty's unique race-car inspired framed and double milled red-dot graphics and double bevelled weights.
