Earlier this year Ping announced a number of additions to their premium PLD Putter line, and now the brand have also updated their standard putter lineup for 2024 with six new models.
Designed to provide a combination of feel and forgiveness, the designs have expanded the lineup to a total of 16 models, with a range of high-MOI blades and forgiving mid-mallets and mallets.
"The Ping putter line combines modern design advancements with the proven technologies that helped Ping set the standard in putter design 65 years ago. In this line, our engineers took a more individual approach with our most popular models, applying variations of our score-lowering innovations like perimeter weighting and optimised centre of gravity placement while further differentiating them through face technology and alignment features."
"It's a very diverse offering but the one thing they all have in common is they offer precision performance on putters of every length. Golfers will have an easy time matching a model to fit their putting style, preferred alignment cues and desired feel."
John K. Solheim, Ping CEO and President.
The putters feature different face technologies, with firm milled faces to soft-feeling inserts which are based from Tour staff feedback to match feel preferences and deliver both control and consistency on putts of every length.
Four models feature a firm feel of a shallowed milled face, while the two bigger mallet models have a softer feel from the Pebax insert.
There are also different alignment options offered to suit the different needs of golfers, including single alignment cues or multiple lines, to improve accuracy and provide more confidence when standing over the ball.
The use of an anti-glare raw blast finish in four models, and a black PVD in the other two, gives more contrast to assist with alignment whilst also promoting a premium look.
Ping 2024 Putter Models
Anser 2
Like Ping's iconic Anser model, the Anser 2 features heel-toe weighting to provide stability and forgiveness, with a longer and narrower profile.
It has a shallow milled face gives a firmer feel, with a consistent roll. The 'clean geometry' of the design is said to offer alignment cues, and it comes with an anti-glare raw blast finish.
Anser D
This model was created after consulting with Tour pros and features a deeper profile which is a hybrid between the Anser blade and a mallet design. The shallow milled face provides a firmer feel and consistent roll, while the anti-glare finish adds to the visuals.
B60
A popular model among golfers for years, the B60 returns with a shallow milled face for a firmer response and consistent roll. It has a thin top rail with rounded ballasts, contoured shaping and a centre alignment line.
Tyne H
A twin-fork design is paired with an Anser hosel to provide multiple alignment cues and help to square up the putter face at impact. Perimeter weighting and an optimised CG position allow for balance, stability, forgiveness and accuracy. A ball-width cavity and contrasting white alignment line are said to make it easier to aim.
Fetch
A dual-density Pebax face insert delivers a soft feel on shorter putt, with a more stable feel on longer lag putts. The putter also makes the ball easy to retrieve from the hole using the sole cutout, which also allows more weight to be moved to the edges of the head to increase MOI and forgiveness.
The Fetch is designed to be easy to aim, thanks to a more compact profile as well as ball-width alignment lines and an anti-glare raw blast finish.
Ketsch G
An aluminium body and stainless steel sole plate pair with an optimised CG to create more forgiveness and stability. The Pebax insert provides a soft insert on short putts, and a more solid feel on longer putts.
Like the Fetch, the Ketsch G also features a ball pickup feature on the sole and contrasting sight lines frame the ball for easier alignment.
Available for pre-order now, the Ping 2024 Putters are priced at an RRP of £280.
