When we think of switchbacks, a picture of hairpin bends ascending an Alpine pass comes to mind.
Rife is about to change that in the world of putters.
Their latest performance putter is called the Switchback XL and has been designed to allow golfers to individually tailor the performance of their putters.
Rife's established Lie-Aline fitting system, that allows retailers to easily adjust the double bend shaft for lie angle, is complemented in the Switchback XL with adjustable weighting options.
Different weight options for the "back bumpers", on both the toe and heel of the putter allows golfers to customise the weight from 375g to 415g, and add the depth that lead Rife to describe it as an oversized blade.
The Switchback XL comes with a set of blue 10g and silver 30g weights to create these weigths and golfers also have the option to mix and match the weights on either side to promote a curved swing path.
A notch in the top line of the putter combines with the white alignment aid on the back of the club for golfers to achieve a repeatable stance knowing the sole of the Switchback XL is flat to the ground when the two line up.
Of course, as you would expect from any Rife putter, the Switchback XL boasts RollGroove technology from the distinctive milled grooves on the face.
These grip and lift the ball forward at impact to prevent skidding and give the ball a consistent and accurate roll.
