Danish footwear experts Ecco have announced the next generation of their hybrid shoe with the introduction of the Biom H4, which they say is their most advanced and modern design to date.
Three years on from the Biom Hybrid 3, the new shoe has been designed to allow golfers to experience ultimate comfort whilst walking 18 holes on the golf course, as well as providing excellent traction and control throughout the motion of the swing.
If you're familiar with Ecco golf shoes you'll know that they take their lasts (the mold which the shoe is shaped from) very seriously. The new Biom 2.0 last is designed to offer a modern, updated look and feel and combines with Ecco's Natural Motion technology to allow the foot to move naturally like a second skin around the foot.
On the bottom of the shoe, there's an all-new MTN Grip outsole which includes three different sections to provide a blend of traction, stability and rotational support.
The Fluidform Direct Comfort Technology makes sure that there is a balance of cushioning and rebound to deliver dynamic comfort with energy return to the foot.
Between the outsole and the midsole are T.PU posts. These wrap around the foot to add stability and also provide a modern, contemporary design which hints towards a slight adjustment in target market for Ecco this year, as they seek to appeal to a slightly younger demographic.
The shoe's uppers are made from a premium, durable Ecco performance leather which protect golfers from wind and water, and is combined with Gore-Tex technology for performance in all conditions.
Other features include X-Tensa Invisible Technology, which links the T.PU block on the sole with the lacing system, to provide a little extra stability, and an Ortholite insole for great cushioning and breathability. This can also be removed if the user requires extra width in the shoe too.
The Ecco Biom H4 Shoes are expected to be available for both men and women from mid-February 2021.
The men's shoe is priced at £170, an impressive £20 cheaper than the Biom H3, and is available in four different colourways: Black, White, Silver Grey and White/Concrete.
The women's shoe is priced at £160 and is also available in four colourways: White, Limestone, Hibiscus and White/Silver Grey.
