Eight-out-of-ten women are praying for Tiger Woods to fluff his opening shot at this year's Open Championship.
It seems Woods' reputation amongst the fairer sex has been irretrievably damaged following revelations about his serial adultery during his six year marriage to Swedish wife Elin Nordegren.
But 90% of blokes have backed Tiger to bang one down the middle when he faces his first hole at St Andrews.
A survey carried out by leading golf website Golfalot.com has revealed that the sexes are split on their opinions of the world No.1, whose sexual shenanigans were revealed late last year following a blazing row with Nordegren at their Florida home that led to him crashing his 4x4 into a lamppost.
Woods has become a hate figure for women and 90% believe he has damaged professional golf's reputation, but the figure is almost reversed for men with 80% thinking the game's status has been unaffected.
And nine-out-of-ten women have their fingers crossed that Tiger misses the cut at the Old Course.
But men are again much more forgiving with eight-out-of-ten hoping he makes it through to the weekend as he chases a 15th Major title - and third successive St Andrews Open after his victories in 2000 and 2005.
Golfalot.com founder Martin Hopley said, "Whatever you think about Tiger Woods the fact of the matter is that despite everything that has been going on in his life, he is still ranked number 1 in the world. Even though he has hardly played this year, he still finished 4th in the Masters and the US Open playing average golf by his standards."
"If he finds anything like his normal game, I would expect him to be in the frame come Sunday at St Andrews and would not be surprised if he becomes the first player to win The Open 3 times at St Andrews."
