Under Armour have made the move to add one of their most popular shoe models into their golf range, by unveiling the new Charged Phantom SL.
It is designed to offer all of the comfort of a pair of trainers, but with the performance and traction of a traditional golf shoe.
The shoe combines Under Armour's Rotational Resistance Traction technology, along with a UA Storm knit design, delivering traction and comfort from a variety of different lies and conditions.
The shoe also utilises Under Armour's Charged Cushioning platform. This is used throughout the midsole and uses a compression molded foam to deliver responsiveness and durability, so that you can 'play all day' on a soft, flexible yet supportive base.
Comfort comes thanks to a bootie design and molded EVA sockliner, providing step-in comfort with a sock-like fit and feel.
The lightweight, breathable upper features strategic reinforcements which are designed to support the golf swing, which remains water-resistant thanks to UA Storm and Never-Wet treatment to keep your feet cool and dry.
"We are really excited about bringing the successful Under Armour Phantom trainer into golf. The Phantom training shoe is the most popular Under Armour model across the globe, with a style and aesthetic that really encapsulates our brand, we know this strategy of turning a trainer into a golf shoe has been done plenty in the world of golf footwear, but we differentiate ourselves by still building this trainer on a true golf performance midsole and outsole."
"At Under Armour, we always put performance first. In fact, this midsole and outsole was one of the best testing packages in our biomechanics work with JJ Rivet. So not only are we delivering a shoe that looks more athletic and feels more comfortable than any golf shoe you have ever worn, but it is built to support the biomechanics of the golf swing."
