The Titleist CB 712 irons replace the 710 model of the same name and given that it is was so successful, there are not any major changes. The biggest visual change is the chrome satin finish which we think looks great. The sole is a little wider and the trailing edge on the back of the head has a little camber on it, both of which make it a little more playable.
Compared to the Titleist MB irons the CB irons have a larger head, top line and a little more offset to give you a bit more forgiveness and a slightly higher flight, although it is still pretty good in the big scheme of things.
However don't think these are game improvement clubs as they are not. The Titleist CB 712 irons are still very much for single figure handicappers who like a more traditional looking forged iron but want a little more margin for error.
You get great feel and feedback and shaping shots is very easy right through the set.
The Titleist CB iron is the most popular Titleist model on the European Tour and we are not surprised, with a lot of players blending the CB's in the some MB short irons or Titleist AP2 long irons.
The Titleist CB 712 irons is a very competent iron and for most single figure amateurs we would recommend blending in with some of the other Titleist models for a combination of forgiveness and feel.
