The FootJoy ProFLX glove replaces the FootJoy Sci-Flex as the hybrid technical/leather glove in their range.
The ProFLX continues with the Breathable 3D PowerNet section of the SciFlex and expands it, if you excuse the pun, to fit across a wider section of the knuckle.
This wider section of mesh gives a better fit of the glove as it stretches as well as providing the breathability to let excess heat and moisture escape.
It's black on the glove I was testing, but you can also get the ProFLX with this section in red or light blue with a black trim.
This is also helped by the two black pieces of elastic fabric that attach to the inside of the ComforTab Velcro closure that help secure the fit and the ProFLX really feels that it hugs your wrist more than most gloves.
There is also now a small section of 3D PowerNet around the base of the thumb that does a similar job and you feel that the ProFLX stays tight to your hand all the time.
The TactionLT Cabretta leather is lighter and thinner and has 'Micro-Perforations' in the fingers, with the exception of the index finger as that experiences the greatest friction during the swing.
As well as wicking away the moisture, the leather in the palm is designed to get tackier when your hands are hot in a similar way to how an all-weather glove like the WeatherSof does when it gets wet in the rain.
This is probably the biggest advance over the SciFlex as the ProFLX manages to stay drier for longer and also did not lose any of its grip on a warm sunny day of testing.
The ProFLX is above average in price, but for this you are getting a more technical glove that combines various materials for a better fit and performance.
This means that if you want the feel of a leather glove but need something that is more breathable, then the ProFLX will provide that blend of traditional feel with the latest in modern fabrics to ensure you keep a grip on your game.
