How? On a thrilling final day, Lowry was able to edge out fellow European stars Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm to claim his first victory since winning The Open in 2019. After the event was reduced to 54 holes, Lowry fired a final round of 65 to complete a bogey-free week and take the clubhouse lead from Jon Rahm, who had earlier shot 62. Needing an eagle to force a playoff, McIlroy saw his 25 foot putt go agonisingly close without dropping, giving his good friend Lowry the victory.
