Who? 23-year-old Dane, Rasmus Højgaard
What? The 2024 AMGEN Irish Open, his fifth DP World Tour win.
Where? Royal County Down, Newcastle, Northern Ireland.
How? Højgaard finished in style with three consecutive birdies to post a clubhouse lead of 9-under par on Sunday. Home crowd favourite Rory McIlroy, who lead the tournament for the majority of the weekend, three-putted the 17th green, leaving him finishing one shot behind Højgaard, despite a closing birdie. Højgaard's finish including a chip-in from a bunker on 17 was enough to claim the trophy in Northern Ireland.
