Jordan Spieth's first shoe, the imaginatively titled Spieth One from Under Armour was a solid performer in our tests with a good performance and a classy understated style, much like the player himself.
As Jordan heads into the 2018 season looking to add to his multiple major championships, Under Armour has decked him out with a new shoe, the Spieth 2. Whilst they may not have wasted much energy in coming up with the name of the latest model, they have certainly put in some hard yards in the material innovation department.
Under Armour says that Jordan's "maniacal focus, fierce intelligence, courage to fight and infinite creativity" is embedded in every fibre of the Spieth 2 and the design team have backed that up by weaving ultra-strong TPU fibres directly into the upper of the shoe.
This technology is called is called UA Smartweave and it provides the ultimate in lightweight support, bringing stability for the foot during the swing and meaning that the Spieth 2 is even lighter than its predecessor, weighing just 410g.
The upper is made from Clarino microfibre leather that gives the shoe added durability and support, whilst an integrated lacing system means the shoe has a locked in fit.
Underfoot comfort is enhanced thanks to a removable EVA footbed in the midsole and the outsole is constructed from a lightweight TPU material. UA Rotational Resistance (RST) spikes provide lockdown traction throughout the swing.
The Gore-Tex construction of the shoe is 100% waterproof and the Spieth 2 comes with a 2 year Limited Waterproof Warranty.
