Under Armour introduced its Storm technology rating in 2015 and this intuitive system continues in 2016/7 with some new garments added to the range to stop weather affecting your performance.

Under Armour Autumn Winter 2016

Under Armour Outerwear Storm1

Storm1 groups together all of Under Armour's water-resistant clothing that uses technology to repel water from the surface of the garment without sacrificing breathability.

Leading the way this autumn are the CGI Insulated Vest and Jacket that use Under Armour's CGI technology to keep you warm as well as dry.

CGI stands for ColdGear Infrafed and uses a soft, thermo-conductive inner coating to absorb and retain the players body heat. In the CGI Insulated garments this is paired with PrimaLoft Silver insulation which is lightweight, water-resistant, breathable and can be compressed without losing warmth.

Both the vest and jacket use a smooth ripstop body fabric for durability and comfort and have stretchy shoulders and back panels that use a hollow-fibre construction to trap warmth without bulk.

Also sitting in Storm1 are the UA Storm Sweaterfleece and the Tips Daytona 1/4 Zip, both designed to provide a water resistant, warm and comfortable upper layer, ideal for autumnal days.

The Storm Sweaterfleece is a lightweight Heathered fleece that has a soft, warm, brushed inner layer for additional comfort. The UA Storm technology repels water from the exterior without sacrificing breathability whilst the ribbed collar, cuffs and hem ensure the fit does not interfere with the swing.

The Tips Daytona 1/4 Zip has double-knit insulation in the front that feels soft but packs incredible warmth. A Moisture Transport System wicks sweat away from the body and ensures the garment dries quickly. Water-resistant stretch panels on the shoulders keep the rain away whilst maintaining a better range of motion.

Under Armour has not forgotten your bottom half in the Storm1 category. The Match Play CGI Taper pant uses UA Storm technology to allow the surface to repel water without sacrificing breathability.

The dual-layer fabric has a warm, brushed interior and a slick, fast-drying exterior with Moisture Transport System that deals with any moisture coming from your body.

ColdGear Infrared technology uses, a soft, thermo-conductive inner coating to absorb and retain the player's body heat and the soft, stretchy woven fabric delivers total comfort. A stretch-engineered waistband gives superior mobility whilst the tapered leg ensures a modern fit and style.

Under Armour Outerwear Storm2

The next level of protection comes with Storm2 for times when the weather requires highly water-resistant and windproof garments to keep rain and wind at bay.

Leading the way this Autumn/Winter is the Elements Update that combines water repelling technology with windproof materials and construction.

Under Armour Autumn Winter 2016

A 3-layer bonded fabric with a durable, smooth outside and a soft interior combines with ColdGear Infrared technology to help absorb and retain your own body heat and is available with either a full of a half zip.

Under Armour Outerwear Storm3

Storm 3 is the gear that is suitable for the wettest conditions that winter golf can throw at you and the garments are both fully windproof and waterproof.

For 2016/17 this category is led by Under Armour's GORE-TEX Paclite using GORE-TEX construction that is 100% waterproof but also extremely breathable.

The windproof materials and construction ensure that you are shielded from all the elements in the worst of the conditions and the 2.5 layer bonded fabric has a durable, smooth exterior and a brushed interior means it is comfortable to wear.

Gusseted shoulders ensure that the jacket provides the full range of motion required in the golf swing whilst adjustable hems and cuff give a great fit and keep all the rain out. The jacket comes with either a full or half zip and trousers are available that use the same GORE-TEX technology.
