Scotty Cameron's latest Futura models, the Futura X7 and Futura X7M, continue the tradition of the master craftsman's high MOI performance putters.

Scotty Cameron Futura X7 and X7M Putters

Using larger club heads and a multi-material construction, the modern wingback mallet putters give better stability, a bigger sweet spot for forgiveness across the face and easier alignment for confidence at address.

Scotty Cameron explains the thinking behind the latest range:

The motivation behind Futura X always has been to help golfers make a more stable, more balanced, more consistent, more confident stroke. We’ve enhanced those benefits with X7 and X7M through larger, multi-material constructions that make alignment simple

To make all this possible the Futura X7 range is constructed from a lightweight aircraft grade aluminium Face-Sole Core that is surrounded by a precision milled 303 stainless steel frame. This moves the weight out and back to improve MOI and give greater stability.

The two components of the head are connected at five key points with vibration dampening technology to give the Futura X7 the softest feel and sound of any putters in the Scotty Cameron Futura X line.

The putters have larger heads than previous models with the Futura X7 having a footprint 10% larger than the Futura X5, with greater MOI and stability plus horizontal and vertical sight lines.

The M in the X7M stands for MOI and this model features a pop-through bar-back mallet design to increase MOI and stability even further as the weight moves farther behind the putter face. Cameron has used the bar on the back of the putter to achieve this rather than add extra weight features at the end of the wings of the putter that may detract from the look at address.

As in the previous Futura X5 range, the X7 includes a dual balanced putter, the Futura X7M Dual Balance. This gives maximum stability for golfers who find it hard to make a consistent stroke with a conventional length club. The balance is achieved by adding 50 grams to the head of the putter and 50 grams in the butt of the shaft. The DB version of the X7M comes with a longer 15 inch grip to allow the player to grip beneath the counterweight for a more stable stroke and has an RRP of £320 compared to the £279 of the standard versions.

All of the putters have a single bend shaft with a half bend point to give them a true face-balanced configuration as well as a one shaft offset for a clean look at address.
