TaylorMade's TP5 golf balls are used by some of the best golfers in the world, with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Nelly Korda and Tommy Fleetwood choosing to tee it up with either the TP5 or TP5x every week.
The latest addition to the range of the ball, which has really gained popularity over the last few years, includes a new Stripe model. This sees the introduction of the 360° ClearPath alignment into TaylorMade's headline golf ball range for the first time.
The new TP5 and TP5x Stripe balls provide all of the same technologies as the existing range, but with the added benefit of a clear 22mm band, which wraps around the centre of the golf ball, and a thin black line to match putter sight lines and improve alignment. TaylorMade says that this helps the golfers to align putts more accurately, consistently and quickly.
The design also helps to make strikes more easily identifiable as the Stripe rolls towards the hole, whilst off-centre strikes cause the band to wobble which is clearly visible.
"The reason golfers have fallen in love with the 360° ClearPath Alignment Stripe is because it allows them to lock in on their line from behind the ball. The immediate feedback about how the golf ball rolls is pivotal as well."
Michael Fox, Senior Director of Product Creation, Golf Balls.
Tommy Fleetwood, who already uses the TP5x pix on Tour and is a fan of TaylorMade's visual technology, is currently testing the TP5x Stripe and using it as an alignment aid during his practice.
The new TP5 and TP5x Stripe uses the same technologies as in the standard models. A Speed Wrapped Core uses materials which are designed to produce a soft sound and feel, allowing for a construction that promotes fast ball speeds. The use of core materials allows TaylorMade to enhance feel and maximise distance, without sacrificing either.
A speed gradient construction uses a five-layer design, which allows for variable stiffness between the core and the mantle layers. The result is lower spin with the driver, fairway woods and long irons, whilst maintaining spin in the wedges and the short irons.
Available at retail from 29th August, the TP5 and TP5x Stripe golf balls are priced at £49.99 per dozen.
