The golfing gods must be looking down upon Puma Golf because, just as they were getting to release their latest pair of shoes, their main man Rickie Fowler used them in terrible conditions to claim victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
The new top-of-the-range Puma Ignite Proadapt shoes are said to offer the golden trio of stability, traction and comfort all in one package, and have been designed thanks to input from Fowler himself.
The shoe uses uses Dual-Durometer Tornado Cleats for optimal traction, along with a full-length TPU outsole to make it extra stable. All of this comes complete with a premium, full-grain leather upper.
Andrew Lawson, Footwear Product Line Manager at Puma Golf, commented:
During the footwear design and creation process, we work with our Tour team, utilising their feedback to deliver shoes that reflect the feel and performance desired by the best golfers in the world.
Rickie was involved from the earliest stages of design, expressing his desire for an upper that provides a ton of support with premium styling. Better players will love these shoes as they offer comfort, maximum stability, ground traction and motion control through your golf swing.
Coming with a one-year waterproof guarantee, the Ignite Proadapt shoes use the following Puma technologies:
A soft yet supportive Pro-Fit Insole gives a great fit whilst retaining long-lasting comfort out on the golf course.
Adaptive Fit System
A dual-layer collar utilises the leather material aswell as a molded section around the top of the foot for extra comfort, which results in the feel of a running shoe but retains the look of a high-end leather shoe.
Atlantis Leather Upper
Premium, full-grain leather upper delivers soft feel, enhanced quality and sophisticated look.
Puma's Ignite Foam, which has been present in their last few shoe releases, is said to provide golfers with more energy return, along with cushioning and comfort, so that you don't have to worry about that new shoe 'breaking-in' period.
The TPU Outsole delivers high performance, grip and abrasion resistance on all surfaces.
The spikes feature a low-profile, dual talon design to give excellent traction and long-lasting resistance, and are easy to swap over using the Fast Twist 3.0 system.
Available from March 15th, the Proadapts come in three colourways; White/Gray Violet, Black/Dark Shadown and Gray Violet/White at an RRP of £150.
For those of you who like limited edition gear, Puma are also set to introduce special models of the Proadapts throughout the year, starting at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship.
Whether they help you to play like Rickie Fowler is doubtful, but if nothing else at least you can pretend as when you're strolling down the fairway with a pair on.
