Ping's latest G410 range of metals also includes a new hybrid, providing golfers with extra distance and forgiveness at the top end of the bag for hitting into position off the tee or for longer approaches into the green.
As with previous models in Ping's collection, the hybrid employs C300 maraging steel as the face material. This thin material is both extremely strong and able to flex at impact, which creates faster ball speeds for a higher ball flight and more distance.
For the first time, Ping have added an adjustable hosel to the G410 hybrid, with eight different settings making the fitting process even more specific to the golfer's needs. Both loft (0, +1°, +1.5°, -1°, -1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flat) can be adjusted in order to optimise ball flight for more consistent and desired ball flights.
John Solheim, Ping President, said:
Loft and lie adjustability in the hybrids will greatly benefit golfers. It's a technology our fitters have been asking for and we're excited to bring it to them to help golfers fine-tune their ball flight and dial in their gaps.
This new offering also features a larger profile and high-density back weight giving the hybrid extra stability and raising the MOI to give extra forgiveness. In turn, making the club easy to hit from a variety of different situations all over the course.
Available in lofts from 17° to 30°, the hybrids come complete with a Ping Alta CB Red shaft in a range of flexes, as well as a number of different after-market shafts for no extra charge.
Ping's hybrid offerings have always been well worth consideration for any golfer looking to broaden their options at the top end of the golf bag. However with the new addition of adjustability and weighting, the G410 hybrid may have made the transition from contender to front-runner.
