Some shoes are light, others are very light and some are "SuperLite".
FootJoy have unveiled their latest lightweight spikeless shoe in the form of the new SuperLites CT shoes. Available in either black or white, the SuperLites CT shoes weigh less than 300 grams making them the lightest men's FootJoy shoe you can buy.
Following an increase in consumer demand, as well as Tour success, FootJoy believe the spikeless market is continuing to evolve and grow. European Marketing Manager, Russell Lawes, said:
As we have seen with several high-profile players using our spikeless shoes at the highest level, including during Major Championships, the appeal of this sector continues to grow, as more people discover how well our shoes perform.
So how exactly have FootJoy created that lightweight performance in the new SuperLites CT shoe?
The truth is, they've made the two main parts of the shoes, the upper and the outsole, lighter and more breathable. The upper on the SuperLites CT is a Super Soft Athletic Mesh designed to offer the support and comfort golfers expect from a spikeless shoe, as well as being very breathable.
The coloured outsole is built from FootJoy's new Fine Tune Foam or FTF. FootJoy say that the FTF material, also used in the FootJoy DNA and FootJoy DryJoys Casual ranges, is incredibly lightweight but at the same provides excellent shock-absorption.
The ultra-modern looking, Cushion Trainer spikeless sole features a central channel paired with more than 100 small dimples.
Inside the shoe, Footjoy's Fit-Bed creates a welcome cushion for your feet to rest in as you wander around the course. Built from EVA, or ethyl vinyl acetate, the bed doesn't take a set so the cushioning will absorb and adapt to your feet and remain the same for the life of the shoe.
