When it comes to spikeless golf shoes no brand is more qualified than Ecco, who pretty much invented the hybrid shoe category just over a decade ago.
Over the last few years we have seen more and more of a trend towards summer golf shoes which replicate an existing trainer, with the likes of Adidas, New Balance and Nike all producing a 'golf version' of an existing trainer model.
Ecco are joining in the fun with the introduction of the Ecco Golf Street 720, as part of the Danish brand's collection for Autumn/Winter 2024.
The shoe is designed to be worn all day and night, making it the perfect option for both on and off-course use. Based on a shoe from Ecco's lifestyle collection, the shoe is designed to make it easier than ever for people to play golf and then enjoy a post-round drink or catch-up with friends.
The Street 720 features Ecco's E-DTS Twist outsole which offers multi-directional traction, allowing flexibility on a variety of different terrains and lies, whilst still being comfortable enough to wear off-course.
A sporty, smooth Ecco leather adds to the versatile, urban look of the shoe, which comes in a choice of colourways including all-white and colour-block styles.
A Gore-Tex surround provides waterproof protection and breathability, along with midsole channels that enable air ventilation. Though the Street 720 looks like it a trainer, it performs like a golf shoe, with features including enhanced stability.
"We are always looking to push the boundaries between what is considered a golf shoe and a shoe that can be worn away from the course - and with Street 720 we have taken those lines and blurred them even further."
"This design is truly an introduction to the game for anyone who sees golf and lifestyle as two things that go hand-in-hand, and we are excited to see the Street 720 on fairways and in cities across the world. It's a fresh new design with the performance qualities that are synonymous with Ecco shoes, and we are proud to continue to drive forward innovation in golf shoe design."
Timo Vollrath, Head of Global Marketing at Ecco Golf.
