Having updated the Chrome Soft and Chrome Soft X balls last year, Callaway are adding a third option to their flagship ball offering with the introduction of the new Chrome Soft X LS, a low spin model which provides max distance along with all of the ball speed you'd expect from the Chrome Soft X.
Callaway say that the ball is best suited for better players looking to 'bomb it' off the tee Phil Mickelson style, with a combination of long distance and a straight ball flight with longer clubs.
It features a 4-piece, single SoftFast core construction which is significantly larger than in previous Chrome Soft models in order to to increase both speed and distance.
This core also works alongside a High Speed Dual Mantle System designed for high ball speeds. The Soft Inner Mantle and a highly resilient Firm Outer Mantle work together to generate faster ball speeds off the face along with more consistent spin rates - a system which is designed to increase total distance.
Around the green, the Chrome Soft X LS generates excellent feel and spin control from a thin Propietary Urethane Cover. It's a durable, resilient and thin cover material built to increase ball speed and lower spin on fuller shots, whilst also giving you the low launch and control to be aggressive with pitches and chips around the green.
Finally, a newly optimised Aero Design reduces drag whilst the ball is in flight for longer overall distance. It helps to produce a consistent, penetrating ball flight which is optimised for the ball's low spin characteristics.
Available from 1st April, the Chrome Soft X LS balls are priced at £39.99 in both White and Yellow colourways, with Triple Track technology also available.
