GreenFreeWhitefield Golf Club features two contrasting nines, with the inward half well over 600 yards longer than its counterpart. The club hosted the PGA Lancashire Open for three years in the early 1990's and will provide a stern examination of any golfers game.

I played Whitefield last Sunday and, considering the time of the year, it was in great condition. They've done lots of new work to tees and truly it was a treat. Great par threes, especially the 17th, and a fantastic-looking par 5, the 12th, were my favourites. Two other interesting points: They've built a brand new clubhouse and, contrary to most other new clubhouses, this one is modern, not too big and, it seems full of friendly members! (I believe they have special offers on full membership too. Sounds too good to be true!!)
