Golf Course Says
West Linton Golf Club lies on Slipperfield Moor and looks down on the delightful Peebleshire village from which it takes its name. The 18 holes of James Braid designed moorland display this incredible area of Scotland at its best with the Mendick Hills providing the dominant focal point of the landscape. The course is kept to the very highest standard and it no surprise that the club motto is "Cherish the Good Turf." West Linton Golf Course has many fans from around the golfing world and can count Sandy Lyle, double major champion, as an honorary member.
Offers & Services Available at West Linton Golf Club
West Linton Golf Course is set in magnificent scenery with unparalleled views of the Pentland Hills and is without doubt one of Scotland's best kept golfing secrets. The abundance of wildlife wandering the course, its exquisite setting and warm welcome ensure that a visit is an experience seldom forgotten.
I was glad that we left West Linton Golf Club for last on our trip - it meant leaving on a high. From the friendly reception in the Pro Shop from Neil to the last putt on the 18th, this course was an absolute pleasure. If I was being hyper-critical I could complain that some of the stroke indices are odd and it's a shame to finish with two consecutive par 3s, but otherwise I'm struggling to find a downside in the experience. West Linton has the look of a classic Scottish course with plenty of variety on the holes and tough but fair greens in great condition. If you're in the area, don't miss out on this quiet gem. Excellent value for money.
West Linton Golf Course is one of the best courses around Edinburgh. Set in amoungst some marshland, West Linton Golf Course offers some attractive holes that weave through the deep rough and marsh. Known for great greens and a friendly clubhouse. If you make par on the finishing hole you more than deserve your drink at the 19th!
West Linton Golf Club is worth the drive out of Edinburgh. Course was in great condition with tight fairways and medium to fast greens and you could stoke the ball at the hole. The 18th at West Linton Golf Course might be one of the hardest finishing holes around. It's a long par 3 with a green that has a wicked slope on it and out of bounds to the right. If the winds up get the driver out! West Linton Golf Club is certainly a friendly club but watch out for the midges on the course.
