Golf Course Says
Wallasey Golf Club, world famous as the "Home of Stableford", was originally designed by Tom Morris in 1891. Dr Frank Stableford joined Wallasey Golf Club in 1914 and his handicap moved from plus1 to 8 by 1928. It was not until late in 1931, whilst playing the second hole into the wind, for most still unreachable in 2, that he mused how often players tore up their cards in the first few holes and wondered what could be done about it . The result, after some development was the Stableford scoring system. Wallasey is also a Open Championship qualifying course.

Classic links, originally designed by Old Tom Morris and modernised by Donald Steel. Tight fairways, serious sand dunes and some of the best greens you'll ever putt on.
Wallasey golf club is a fantastic links course which is well worth its Open Qualifying reputation. The opening holes are extremely tight before it opens out a little, but still remains very tough. Played through rolling dunes alongside the Irish Sea, Wallasey is a course I would highly recommend.
