Vale Hotel Golf Resort & Spa Lake Course makes up one half of the two exceptional course at the Vale Hotel. Fromerly known as the Vale of Glamorgan golf course, the par 72 the course has staged numerous Welsh national events and is one of the best courses in Wales. A lake measuring some 20 acres dominates the course and water awaits wayward shots on two thirds of the 18 holes. From the 8th you can look into Wales' largest heronry and the feature hole, the Island Green 12th hole, is regularly votes as one of the best in Britain. The Lake Course at the Vale Hotel is more than worthy of a visit.

Where2Golf.comThe Lake course at The Vale Hotel contains, as you may suspect, its fair share of water hazards - they feature on over half the holes. Most watery of all is the island green at the short par-4 12th, which needs careful shot-making to escape with par or better. This very pleasant parkland environment is almost garden like in places, with shrubberies adorning the fairly compact and well maintained layout. The views over the wooded Glamorgan countryside are best on the front nine, where several holes are arranged on one side of the vale, providing occasional glimpses of 17th century Hensol Castle.
