Golf Course Says
American course designer Ronald Fream, who has built a worldwide reputation as a course designer, considers the Vale de Pinta course to be his finest. Few of those who have played would disagree with his assessment. Water comes into play at four holes with punishing - but ultimately fair - sand traps jealously protecting the greens. Fig, almond and olive tress jostle for position - and demand accuracy - and many of them date back 600 years with one olive tree in particular dating back some 1200 years. With a reliable driver in hand the experienced golfer will be able to negotiate Vale da Pinta and its many doglegs with a good score but all who play it will know they have been severely challenged by a real Algarvean delight.
