Established in 1895 with the 18 hole Parkland course surrounded by mature trees is relatively flat and compact offering a testing challenge to all levels of golfer. I played the ladies open on 4/6/2011 for the 1st time. The course is badly laid out with holes crossing over each other. The condition was average.

Uphall Golf Club is a compact, very enjoyable course. The opening holes are close together until you cross the road at the 4th. The greens were good and rolled true. The par 4 17th hole is a cracker. You have the option of laying up or being brave and going for the green.

Uphall golf club is tightly packed in a small area of ground and it does well with it. It's worth going round with someone who knows the course as I am not keen on the 1st with its blind second shot. The holes around the stream at 2, 3 and 15, 16, 17 are very good with the short par-3 16th next to the clubhouse being the most fun. The rest of the course across the road is tree-lined and requires some accurate driving, but is not very inspiring.

Uphall Golf Course is not the greatest of courses ever built but it did have a few good holes with the last 4 holes around the clubhouse a bit different to your normal finish. You need a crash helmet for the first few holes as they go back and forth before you cross the road and play the best part of the course. Uphall Golf Course was in OK condition but the greens were not up to much. You did however fell very welcome in the clubhouse.
