Tyrrells Wood Golf Course, set among a myriad of specimen trees framing magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, was originally designed by five times Open Champion James Braid to provide a tough but rewarding challenge. GreenFreeLocated on the edge of the North Downs and in common with much of the area, Tyrrells Wood Golf Club has a chalk subsoil. The typical downland nature of the area was transformed by the substantial tree planting programme implemented in the late 19th Century.
Todays GolferTyrells Wood Golf Club is a sloping course without a single flat hole to negotiate. Most holes are tree lined so accuracy plays a major role. Beware the speed of the greens.
