Golf Course Says
Swinley Forest golf course is on the famous Surrey/Berkshire sand belt. The Harry Colt designed layout originally opened for play in 1909, reputedly Colt’s favourite and finest design. Although the yardage is only a little over 6,000 yards, the par of 68 makes it a real challenge. One of the features that sets Swinley apart is its collection of par three holes. Colt stalked the property until he found the natural green sites for these short holes. The splendid combination of tall pines, rhododendrons and heather, together with the excellent bunkering and general course layout, ensures Swinley Forest will remain one of the finest heathland courses around.
