Golf Course Says
Sunningdale New was built in 1923 when both the membership and the amount of golf being played increased after the First World War. The Committee were concerned about reducing the pressure on the Old Course and so developed the New Course from a 9 hole course on land purchased from Lord Onslow. Designed by Harry Colt, the New is perhaps a bit more rugged than the Old, a bit more masculine. 'This is rich and handsome and challenging golf' Harry Colt .
