Overlooking Stonehaven on the Braes of Cowie lies Stonehaven Golf Club. A course that claim to be of interest to golfers and geologists alike the course lies on the Highland Fault Line and players must actually carry a gully formed by the line from the tee on holes 13 and 15. The course measures only 5103 yards but dramatic short holes played over deep gullies and along the cliff tops combine with lush fairways and the best greens in the area to provide a stern test to all golfers. Stonehaven Golf Club also affords the golfers stunning views across the coast and over the picturesque fishing town itself. Plans are being made for Jack Nicklaus' design company to create a second at Stonehaven.
