Golf Course Says
A links course with its fair share of heathland Southerndown Golf Club is one of the secret gems of Welsh golf. A delight to play, the course is also wonderfully dry allowing members and visitors alike to test themselves against the Southerndown challenge throughout the year. The course is popular with visitors and offers a warm welcome and excellent hospitality with many visitors to the Celtic Manor Ryder Cup venue grabbing the opportunity to play some championship links golf at Southerndown as part of their trip. No less a figure than the great Henry Cotton called the opening hole one of the hardest in golf and Gene Sarazen also enjoyed playing here. Built on a limestone outcrop that rises above the sea and offers stunning views, Southerndown Golf Club is a truly unique links experience.
