Golf Course Says
David Mclay Kidd designed the Powerscourt Golf Club West Course to provide a challenge for the best but also to provide enjoyable golf for even the most occasional of players. The many visitors who have enjoyed Powerscourt West would be quick to agree that Kidd has more than achieved his aim. The course is marked by wide fairways and large greens and has won the hearts of all who have played it.
Media Reviews
Where2Golf.comIn scenery reminiscent of Gleneagles' Perthshire Hills (in this case the Wicklow hills), are 36-holes of excellent golf set in the grounds of the renowned Powerscourt Estate. The East course, like the West, combines a fine mix of undulating holes in a relatively open, though occasionally wooded landscape. There is copious bunkering giving good definition to the holes, reasonably generous fairways and greens that are fast and true. For those really off-line shots, thick grassy rough awaits. The views of surrounding hills, the pointed-peak of Sugarloaf Mountain, a glimpse or two of the sea and the tranquillity of the Estate will ensure you'll have a thoroughly enjoyable time playing either golf course at Powerscourt.
