Golf Course Says
Pontardawe Golf Club sits on a mountain - although it remains a gentle walking course - and has some of the best views around of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains and, towards the south, the Swansea Valley. The course began life in 1924 and was extended to the present day 18 in 1964. The par of 70 is over a course that weighs in at just over 6100 yards. Visitors are most often struck by the 16th - a real impact hole where you tee off (the tee is known locally as the pulpit) from the top of the mountain to the green below. Visitors are most welcome and Pontardawe Golf Club has a resident professional and excellent facilities.
