Northumberland Golf Club

The Northumberland Golf Club is situated in the middle of the Newcastle race course, although the first 2 holes and 18th are outside the rails leading up to the large and comfortable clubhouse. The clubhouse has bullet proof glass as the bay window is very close indeed to the 18th green. The Northumberland golf course itself is well laid out and almost heathland in style. There are a number of good holes and a lot of semi-blind drives, so it is a course to play more than once to get your bearings. A lot of the greens slope from one side to the other. Obviously the course has to go around the racecourse, but the course is well laid out and there are a few holes that could have better bunkering, such as 14, but otherwise an enjoyable course at an exclusive venue.
