GreenFreeMid Yorkshire Golf Course is surprisingly mature parkland with strategically placed water hazards and bunkers as well as superbly contoured greens. The feature hole is the 14th, a par 5 which demands accurate shotmaking along it's length.

I played Mid Yorkshire Golf Course on Friday 11th Mar 2011 and have to say I was extremely dissapointed. Although I only paid £12.50 for 18 holes I expected so much more. The sand in the bunkers, well I say sand, I think they must have got a job lot of builders sand from Wickes, they are appalling. The fairways and greens also leave a lot to be desired. There was no evidence of players replacing divots or repairing pitch marks and we were following members around so if they can't look after the course who will? It presents itself as a municipal courses, although I have played on better municipal courses. Came off the course hoping to chat to someone in the pro shop but it was closed! Pretty much sums up the attitude all round. Sorry to be so negative but if they want to encourage societies, visitors etc then they must put some effort into the course.

I played at Mid YorkshireGolf Course twice during May-04, on the second occasion taking 8 people from our office Golf Society, and had no problem either booking Tee times nor using 2-fore!-1 vouchers for the group. The weekday green fee of £12 is fantastic value especially when used in conjunction with a 2-4-1 scheme. The course was in very good condition, the fairways were better trimmed than some other courses' greens and the greens themselves were superb. The Mid Yorkshire Golf Course stroke saver guide provided valuable insight to yardages. The course layout provided an excellent challenge for players at both ends of the ability spectrum, with water, sand and trees well placed. Percentage play and good course management are a must. With the obvious exception of the Par 3s, Mid Yorkshire Golf Course has more dog-legs than Crufts!
