Matilde di Canossa Golf Club lies in the shadow of the defences which the Countess Matilde erected back in the 11th century as the basis for an empire that made her one of the most influential power brokers in mediaeval Europe. The castles and defences provide a stunning and historical backdrop to the wonderful Matilde di Canossa golf course. Another of the many courses in the region designed by Marco Croze the course is traversed by the Quariesimo stream and follows the natural contours of this stunning countryside. Matilde di Canossa offers full practice facilities and is a favourite of both local and visiting golfers.
