Golf Course Says
Limerick County Golf & Country Club is the most comprehensive golf complex in Southwest Ireland, featuring a championship-quality 18-hole golf course, a luxurious Clubhouse, extensive practice facilities and tuition with a team of PGA professionals.
Constructed to USGA standards, Limerick County Golf Course is one of the most highly rated courses to come on stream in recent years. In addition, the development offers the golfer a fully-equipped Golf Academy with driving range, practice holes, putting greens and video analysis.
After three good opening holes to get you into the golfing mood, a dramatic climb at the par-5 4th quickly takes you to the highest part of the course and stunning long-range views in all directions over Limerick County - quite breathtaking. The par-4 5th hole is equally dramatic as it plunges downhill, and (as you may have guessed) the hill needs to be climbed and descended once more, before returning to the rotunda clubhouse at the 9th. After all that spectacular front-nine scenery and elevation change, the back-nine is located on much flatter terrain, and in most respects is easier to play, although water puts in an appearance at several holes. Throughout, the greens tend to be large with serious slopes and borrows, not least at the three-tier green accompanying the short uphill par-4 7th. Overall Limerick County golf course is a very pleasant and relatively open parkland course, where you are sure to remember the front-nine hill and the spectacular views it provides.
A decent parkland designed by Des Smyth. Greens are a delight. Cosy clubhouse.
