Lakeside Golf Course is a nice gentle course, but has quite a few testing par 3 & 4's, and the par of 62 is quite a feat unless your name is Todd Hamilton. The green fees have recently been increased from £10 to £12 for adults (August 2004). Beware the murky waters on the short 5th. as it is impossible to see your lost ball in the shallows of this hazard which extends almost the full length of the green, and the pin is very often just a yard or two over the wet stuff. It looks as if the cut grass has been thrown in the water to turn it green, so use your cheapy balls on this hole or take a trawling net. Lakeside Golf Club does not offer much in the way of practice facilities, (small putting green) unless you want to spend another £3 per basket on the driving range opposite. where you can only drive off a few bays because of complaints of a householder on the top right hand corner of the range. So a driving range where you are not allowed to drive. YIPPEEE
