Golf Course Says
Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club lies on the edge of Troon and, for over a century, golfers have been enjoying pitting their wits against a wonderful links course. The course has a par of 72 but the Standard Scratch for its 6817 yards is 74. The creation of nine new holes has changed the links but the new layout has already hosted a number of national championships and Open qualifying. Another layout, the Kilmarnock Golf Club Dundonald Course, uses many of the same holes and is often used in the winter months.

A great course in top condition with some tricky holes thanks to wind, burns, gorse, etc. Fabulous clubhouse with slightly battered but beautifully cared for lockers, the sort you only get with time and care. And great food. Proshop very helpful and they went so far as to organise a set of rental clubs for me. Hope to return one day.
