Golf Course Says
Designed by Wille Park Junior and opened in 1901 Huntercombe Golf Club has a long and deserved reputation as one of the finest inland golf courses in the United Kingdom. Huntercombe was an immediate success, Walter Travis - the first of the great Amateur golfers to cross the Atlantic and win the British Amateur - called the course the best laid out he'd ever seen and went on to complement it as both a fine inlad course and wonderful test. Huntercombe golf course today is very much like it was back in 1901 and the flat nature of the course means it can - and is - enjoyed by members of all ages. Legendary for the quality of its turf Huntercombe is in excellent condition throughout the year. Visitors are welcome but should not that only twoball and foursomes are allowed to play the course.
A grand old layout and wonderful parkland setting. Short by modern standards but much more difficult than yardage suggests. Tee times usually restricted to two balls and foursomes.
