Played twilight scheme at Hoebridge Golf Centre and the good impression was reinforced when the marshall pointed out where to aim on various holes as we trod gingerly to the first tee. Wide fairways to start, then sudden drops away from the fairway later on keep the novice on his toes. Best hole at Hoebridge Golf Centre was the flat tenth from right outside the clubhouse. Great if you smoke it! Worst has to be the uphill and doglegging 17th which easily out-villains the 7th which we had been warned about. You stand below a monster hill with a barber's pole for a friend, the fairway then drops the other side, on the left and deep rough to the right. Then a ravine stands between you and green! Good variety and mixture of pars 3, 4 and 5. Top course and will be back to Hoebridge Golf Centre if only for the views of the South Downs
