Golf Course Says
Hever Castle Golf Club in Kent sits in the shadow of the famed Hever Castle, childhood home of Anne Boleyn and the 18 hole Kings & Queens course reflects that royal heritage. Situated in the valley of the River Eden the 7002 yard par 72 golf course is a demanding layout and even the most accomplished golfer will be tested fully. With water featuring on five holes and the par 5 seventeenth measuring 644 yards from the championship tee all aspects of a players game will be tested.
Media Reviews
GreenFreeThe excellent Kings and Queens Championship course at Hever Castle Golf Club, host to the Kent PGA Championship, has matured magnificently and with the addition of the Princes nine holes, opened in June 1998, offers a stunning array of holes fit to challenge all golfers.
Where2Golf.comThere are three 9’s here at Hever, the most played and most consistent fit being the Kings and Queens combination. The course is layed out over gently undulating terrain in a classically English parkland environment; occasionally some holes emerging into a more open setting with fewer trees lining the fairways. The back-nine is where the sterner challenges of this excellent golf course lie - the 11th, 12th and 13th creating a tricky “Amen Corner” with water in play at each hole. Occasional glimpses of Hever Castle (especially at the 3rd hole) provide reminders of the area's stately background; one can easily imagine a royal hunting party galloping past in days of old. Set in its peaceful and picturesque parkland setting, this is a course that will continue to grow in stature.
National Club GolferThe opportunity to play golf in a setting such as Hever Caslte does not come around too often. Featyres some outstanding holes.
