In the heart of casual golf land, Glencullen Golf Course is set high in the Dublin Mountains, overlooked only by the Giants Grave that is situated in the woodland left of the fifth fairway. A testy opening par three followed by a couple of straightforward par fours should see you get off to a solid start. However, once you reach the signature holes of Glencullen Golf Club at the top of the course, your scoring is immaterial as the panoramic surround takes control. To the left you are indulging in some of the finest views over Dublin Bay, straight in front of you is the leafy suburb that is the Dalkey/Killiney triangle and to your right is the Wicklow frontier with it's own mountain range rolling into the distance and beyond. So if your golf is struggling at Glencullen Golf Course, you can still take time to admire the course's location and views.
