Golf Course Says
Glasgow Golf Club Gailes Links lies on a stretch of coast between Troon and Irvine. The course architect, Willie Park, believed in simple course designs and he left much of the gorse and heather untouched when he laid out the course in 1892. From the white tees the course measures 6903 yards and represents a formiddable challenge although golfers of lesser ability will find that the shorter tees may be more suited to their game. The feature hole is the par 5 fifth: a tricky dog leg with a well guarded green. After you have played Glasgow Gailes Golf Course you will find yourself agreeing with double major winner Sandy Lyle that this is a great links course.

Glasgow Gailes is a great links course, with some severely testing holes, some are very long indeed and require great shots, utilising all your clubs and links know-how. Course was in lovely condition, greens were lovely and run and run and run, very smooth. Very enjoyable and worth the money, would suggest an early tee start from April to summer as the course gets very busy as the day progresses.

Glasgow Gailes Golf Club is right next door to Western Gailes on the west coast but not quite as good. Don't get me wrong this is still a great course but I thought Western Gailes just had that little bit more. Glasgow Gailes Golf Course is another tough links course that requires every club in the bag and when the wind gets up that when the fun begins. Greens were superb and gave you a nice roll. Glasgow Gailes Golf Club did have some great holes that will test all your skills. The clubhouse was a bit stuffy but all in all it was worth the trip.
