Where2Golf.comSituated on the splendid Renville peninsula, Galway Bay is an open links style course where artificial mounding rather than natural sand dunes creates the links like effect. There is nothing artificial however about Christy O'Connor Jr's design, which has ensured a really top quality course, harmoniously at ease with the surroundings - and what surroundings they are to. From front and back nines the magical Galway Bay is constantly in view, usually right beside you. If Galway Bay wasn't enough, in the middle of the course is a pleasant water-feature. Many golfers have described this as an inspiring place of great beauty, grace and tranquillity. We would unreservedly agree - but play this when the wind is howling in from the Atlantic and other words may come to mind.
