James Braid and Willie Park, both Open winners, were the designers responsible for the 18 holes at Forres Golf Club. The course offers both fine vistas of Findhorn Bay and the Moray Firth and a fine layout that is kept in the best possible condition. The signature hole at Forres Golf Club is the 16th. Called simply "The Pond" the wayward off the tee can expect to lost a ball to the water.

GreenFreeForres Golf Course celebrated its centenary year in 1989 and like a fine wine continues to improve with age. The course, is remembered mostly for its spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, its tree lined fairways and the infamous 16th hole, aptly named The Pond, which provides a watery grave for many a stray golf ball.
