Golf Course Says
Duns Golf Club measures some 6209 yards from the medal tees and is a fine 18 hole course with a par of 70. Aside from two or three small climbs the course is comprised of gentle slopes and visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the neighbouring countryside. The Wellrig Burn offers both a feature and a challenge as it comes into play on some holes. Visitors will remember the 15th long after they have played. At only 107 yards it is a short par 3 but the elevated tee and tiered green are made more challenging by the burn guarding both the front and back of the green. With players teeing off in the knowledge that there is a good chance of both birdie and bogey the whole is more than worthy of its name: "Double Trouble". Duns Golf Club is proud to call itself the Borders' friendliest golf course that is suitable for the veteran and the beginner alike.

GreenFreeThe Wellrig Burn runs through Duns Golf Course and comes into play on several of the holes. There are a couple of short climbs at Duns Golf Club but otherwise the course has gentle slopes and gives lovely views of the countryside around Duns and towards the Cheviot Hills to the south.

Duns Golf Course is very much a course of two halves. The first hole and holes 11-18 were the original 9 holes. The others are across a road. The original holes are interesting with plenty of elevation changes and plenty of variation in design. Bascially a parkland course, it does seem to have a little trouble with drainage so the fairways stay quite muddy. The other holes on the other side of the road are less than inspirational. Most of the holes at Duns Golf Club are relatively unmemorable are the greens need urgent healthcare. Overall Duns Golf Course was a bit disappointing, but the staff are very friendly and helpful.
