Golf Course Says
The lay-out of Dun Laoghaire Golf Course creates a beautiful suburban 18-hole course, founded in 1910, was done by the legendary Harry Colt in the early part of the century, and whilst it does not have the length of many courses (5,313 metres), careful club selection is required to score well. There are several feature holes at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club, the 5th, 8th, 14th and 17th being particularly interesting, and the Par 5 18th, 465 metres, features in the Guinness Book of Records, being where the longest recorded Drive was achieved by an Amateur, Tommy Campbell. Clubhouse facilities include bar and lounge area with dining space for up to 150/175. Dun Laoghaire Golf Course has had extensive trees and shrubs planted in recent years and a water feature has also been added to the 11th hole, all of which enhanced the beauty of the course.
